This test looks a bacteria that infects the stomach called Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) via a stool antigen test. Overtime, if left un-treated, this bacteria can cause ulcers that lead to bleeding in the stomach , chronic abdominal pain, and even stomach cancer. The test is done by looking for protein particles of the bacteria in stool.

If you have symptoms of
- Chronic abdominal pain
- Heart burn
- Frequent nausea, bloating or belching.
- Unexplained anemia
- Class of drugs called PPIs, antibiotics, bismuth all decrease sensitivity of the test. Recommended to avoid PPIs, antibiotics for 1-2 weeks prior to testing.
